Open 365 days of the year, Northside Emergency Veterinary Service (NEVS) is a modern, after hours emergency vet hospital run by a co-operative of 29 leading Sydney vets. It works in conjunction with your regular vet to provide the emergency and after hours vet care and expertise that your pet needs outside of normal business hours.
Unfortunately emergencies can happen any time. NEVS is a dedicated after hours vet hospital which deals with animal emergencies including tick paralysis, trauma (such as being hit by a car), poisoning, collapse and breathing difficulties.
As a dedicated emergency vet hospital, NEVS is staffed with experienced emergency vets and well equipped to perform a wide range of emergency services. NEVS new purpose-built state-of-the-art hospital was opened by Prime Minister Tony Abbott in 2015. Located in Terrey Hills, NEVS is equipped with a surgical theatre, intensive care unit (ICU), digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and up-to-date diagnostic, pathology and monitoring machines to make a timely assessment of your pet’s condition and to provide the critical care required.
To maximise the usage of this world-class vet hospital, Northside Veterinary Specialists (NVS) share our facility. NVS are a team of specialist vet surgeons and physicians. Together NEVS and NVS provide support to local vet hospitals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Veterinarians on Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Beaches may refer your pet to NEVS for an after hours vet consultation. If treatment is already underway, they may recommend transferring your pet to NEVS for overnight or weekend care.
NEVS’ team of experienced and skilled veterinarians and nurses endeavour to provide the highest quality of veterinary care and assistance at all times. We welcome you to contact us should you require any emergency advice over the phone.
